Landfill Protocol:
With the Government of Guyana’s Solid Waste Program, Puran Brothers Disposal Inc. now manages a number of landfill sites across Guyana. We have landfill operations throughout Regions 2, 3, 4 and 7 and are working to facilitate more sites in all Regions. All of our landfill sites are designed to EPA standards and adheres to Government regulations to ensure minimal damage to the environment. All wastes accepted into our landfill sites are compacted and covered, thus ensuring all refuse is able to decay without negative effects on the surrounding area and mitigating any health hazards. With the largest fleet of landfill equipment, we are no doubt the preferred choice in landfill operations.
Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill:
Puran Brothers is contracted for the Operations of the Haags Bosch Sanitary Landfill Site facility. This site is located at the back of Eccles and is the largest landfill in Guyana catering for household and commercial refuse. Haags Bosch is currently the only sanitary landfill site in Guyana and follows strict international regulations. It is the only landfill site to utilize a specialized landfill compactor, bio- degradable odor neutralizers, and an HDPE cover for temporary capping. Once the active area has reached proper compaction levels, the area is permanently capped with a clay mixture. A close partnership with the Ministry of Communities ensures that all guidelines and procedures are followed in the operations of the landfill. Puran Brothers Disposal Inc. is the only company in Guyana with extensive knowledge and experience in landfill rehabilitation. We have successfully completed major works such as the rehabilitation of the Le Repentire landfill site, a contract funded by the IADB bank. Other notable works include the closing and rehabilitation of a number of other sites such as the Grove and Timehri dump sites. Works consisted of stabilizing, compacting of garbage, inserting of vents for dissipation of the gases and covering areas with a compacted layer of clay.
