Our History:
Over three decades ago Puran Brothers Disposal Inc. commenced its waste disposal services under the original name, Puran Brothers Disposal Services. In 1987 three brothers pooled their resources and embarked on a garbage disposal service with the appropriate name “Puran Brothers Disposal Service”. Around that time, the Georgetown Mayor and City Council privatized the collection and disposal of garbage in and around the city. Puran Bros. Disposal Service recognized this opportunity and was among the first to be contracted by the Mayor and City Council. Our service began with a few small Tractors with Trailers, then Lorries and we immediately made an impact on solid waste management in the Georgetown area. As a result of the consistent high quality of service that we provide, the Mayor and City Council awarded us a series of new contracts for new areas in the City. This prompted us to purchase our first set of Garbage Compactor Vehicles in 1996.
Our Present:
Today we are officially the largest solid waste contractor in Guyana and operate throughout the country; we operate is six (6) of the ten (10) regions in Guyana. Having experienced much success in the solid waste industry, the company, with its keen eye for investment, expanded its operations to other sectors, such as construction and, ready-mix concrete. Our range of services include, waste disposal, ready mix concrete, landfill operations, sewerage management, road construction, machine & equipment rentals, portable toilet rentals, trucking services, recycling, document shredding, and party rentals. As we continue to progress as a company we are continuously expanding into new sectors. Our company is one of the widely recognized and regarded businesses in Guyana and offers a wide range of professional services.
Our Future:
Looking ahead, our company is constantly making strategic moves to further enhance our services. We remain committed to the environment and continuously work towards developing a green Guyana by working hand in hand with the local Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in this regard we were the first waste management company to hold an Operations Permit from the EPA. In keeping with our commitment, we are constantly upgrading our fleet of trucks and equipment to meet international standards, today the vast majority of our fleet are rated with Euro-3/Euro-4 or Euro-5 emissions standards. Puran Bros. is one of the first companies in Guyana to have invested in purchasing Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD) for our trucks which results in reduced emissions, advanced emission controls, and a cleaner burning fleet. We are steadfast in remaining Guyana’s premier waste disposal company and becoming Guyana’s foremost company by placing emphases on the environment, our workers, and our customers.
